SynergEyes Hires Industry Veterans to Lead International Expansion

Carlsbad, CA (Sept. 15, 2014) – SynergEyes, Inc., the worldwide leader
in hybrid contact lens technology, has hired Jonathan Jacobson and Geoffrey Ide
as Co-General Managers of International Business. In this new position,
Jacobson and Ide will lead SynergEyes’ global strategy to expand its business
through distribution, licensing and strategic partnerships.

lens business around the world,” said SynergEyes President and CEO James
Kirchner, O.D. “Their combined expertise is the ideal component to help
SynergEyes bring high-performance vision to contact lens patients globally.”

Jacobson brings 30 years of experience in ophthalmic medical devices.
His marketing background includes nearly 25 years with Bausch & Lomb, where
he led PTC’s global rigid gas permeable contact lens business and forged
strategic alliances to build a rapidly developing segment of the specialty lens
category. Most recently as president of Menicon America, he was responsible for
re-positioning and expanding Menicon’s business in North America. Menicon is
Japan’s largest contact lens company.

Ide brings more than 30 years of experience driving revenue growth in
global markets for leading technologies in life sciences and medical ophthalmic
devices. His marketing and management background in ophthalmic medical
devices includes 17 years with Bausch & Lomb covering rigid gas permeable and
soft contact lenses as Regional Vice President of Marketing for Western
Hemisphere, Europe and later President of Bausch & Lomb Japan. He returned
to the United States as Vice President of International for EMD Millipore, a
leading life science manufacturer, where he developed and implemented a fiveyear
strategic plan that led to substantial revenue growth and expanded
structural capabilities.
